Events
The Events view shows the events your site received most recently, one by one. It’s a good way to check that your setup works.
Open the events view
Open your site in Lienks and click Events next to Analytics at the top of the site.
What you see
- The card is called Latest Events and lists the last 50 events of the site, newest first.
- All kinds of events appear there: pageviews and custom events, not only your own.
- The columns are Timestamp (in the site’s time zone), Event (the name, for example
pagevieworsignup_clicked), Path, Referrer, Browser, OS, Device, Country, Known Bot (Yes or No) and Visitor ID (the beginning of the pseudonymous identifier, empty in Minimal mode). - Browser, OS, Device and Country are empty (–) if the matching switch is off in the site settings, which is the default (Data collection).
If nothing has arrived yet, the card says “No events received yet.” In that case see Troubleshooting.
Use it to test your setup
A typical run: open your website, trigger a custom event, then reload the Events view. The new event is at the top.
Check that the name is right. Invalid names don’t show up at all (see Custom events).
Good to know
- The view only shows the last 50 events. It is not an export and not a complete log.
- Known bots appear here with Known Bot “Yes”, but are kept out of the dashboard statistics.
